Discovering the Clyde!

discovering the clyde - walking trails

Welcome to Discovering the Clyde! These are a series of self-led walking tours that explore Glasgow’s heritage, whilst providing an opportunity to enjoy the outdoors and benefits of walking. We are still developing these trails and would love to hear your feedback!

The online trails are downloadable to GoogleMaps and are broken into three manageable sections:
  •  Making (5km, 60 minutes)
  •  Trading (2km, 30 minutes)
  •  Playing (2km, 30 minutes)
Each trail is made up of 7 points of interest, which include a brief history of the site, a fun fact, and a discussion activity to keep you thinking about building, trading, and playing along the river. All trails are suitable for cycling and are either free of stairs or have ramp access to allow for prams or wheelchair access.

Enjoy discovering the Clyde!
You can also test out a Pdf version of the "Making" trail that can be printed at home (standard A4).

The trails were designed by Samantha Marsh, a postgraduate student on the University of Glasgow Museum Sudies Masters course, with support from the West Boathouse project and Glasgow Building Preservation Trust. Your feedback will help us refine and develop the trails.

You can complete a short feedback form here, or if you have further question/suggestion please contact 2406876M@student.gla.ac.uk
